In 2004, the Microsoft Corporation was so moved by our mission they donated The Little Red Fire Truck to the silent auction – a wildly popular aspect of the Phoenix Society’s World Burn Congress — held this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin — that helps raise money to provide burn survivors with the tools and resources needed to thrive again.
The inaugural winner of The Little Red Fire Truck was a group of Nova Scotia fire fighters, who returned him to the Phoenix Society with one stipulation: each year the winner would donate him back to stay in the service of helping burn survivors.
The Little Red Fire Truck has been in commission ever since, raising thousands of dollars every year to help support the Phoenix Society and burn community!
The Phoenix Society’s World Burn Congress is an annual conference involving burn survivors, health care professionals, firefighters, and anyone affected by a burn injury. The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors is the only national nonprofit that provides the tools and resources to help burn survivors get back to living.
